I just switched to a newer skin routine a few weeks so I thought I should share with you both so you have a wide variety of products to choose from and have reviews about. Let me just give you a little background about my skin. My skin is dry/combination. Quite dry around my mouth and cheeks; and it gets a little oily throughout the day around my T-Zone area. I have acne prone skin and I am on a constant hunt for acne products to decrease it; yet, not all the products I use in my skin routine are for acne-prone skin or else that would be too drying to my face. I have to get some moisture and repair as well. So lets get started:
– Cleansing: I tried my cousin’s cleanser in Paris the past summer and its called Ducray (Paraben Free) Unfortunately it is not sold here but I am on the hunt for dopes. I loved it and made my skin glow right away for the few days I’ve used it and people even noticed. But my skin is the type where it needs constant change and I had to try a new cleansing product. I went and bought the acne-solutions wash by Clinique, and it was not too nice to my skin. So I went back to using the Ducray.
– Toner: Along with my acne-solutions wash from Clinique, I got the toner as well. Still, I had some trouble and it was not so great to my skin either and it was a little irritating and drying. I realized that I am using way too many products that contain salyicic acid so I had to calm down my skin from dryness and redness a bit. I went and bought Nuxe Lotion Tonique (Sold at Shoppers) and it is great, I love anything with rose in it. It is so soothing and calming and definitely soft so it helped to smooth out my skin.
– Moisturizers: For night I used La Roche-Posay double action acne treatment, which is great as well, and it is rated the best according to the Beauty Pedia. I got the retinol treatment from Philosophy (Help Me) and it did nothing but caused more breakouts to my face. In the morning I used the La Roche-Posay Mattifying moisturizer, I liked it but did not like the texture so much because it is more on the crème side rather than the lotion texture. It definitely did moisturize and it is completely fragrance free.
– Eye Cream: remember to always use it first on your skin before any other moisturizer and after your toner. I use the Origins cucumber eye cream moisturizer; it is very soothing and calming, but not very hydrating. If your under eye and eye lids are very oily, this should be good for you, but mine are very dry.
Stay tuned for the updated skin routine video with full details on what I do with completely new products.
You see the brush on the right? That is Olay Pro-X! Review will be coming soon about it to my blog; very similar to the Clarisonic yet a lot cheaper.
It is your turn to help me; what is your favourite eye cream because I am in the hunt for one?
Mira. x x
